StockSense — per-SKU demand forecasting & smart restock for Shopify.

Who we are

What data we access

StockSense requests only the read_products and read_orders Shopify scopes.

• Products & variants — title, SKU, price, inventory quantity, and unit cost, used to identify what to forecast and compute restock economics.
• Orders — for each order we read only the line-item SKU, quantity, and order date, which we aggregate into a per-SKU daily-units demand series.

We do not read, store, or transmit customer personal data — no names, emails, phone numbers, shipping addresses, payment details, or customer identifiers. Because StockSense never touches Protected Customer Data, it is out of scope for Shopify's Protected Customer Data review.

What we store

• Shop settings — your forecast configuration (lead time, service level, MOQ, demo-mode flag).
• Forecast runs — cached, product-derived forecast outputs for your shop.
• Shopify session — the offline access token Shopify issues so the app can call the Admin API on your behalf.

How we use AI

Forecast math runs in a deterministic, on-server pipeline — no model is involved in the numbers. We send only the resulting per-SKU forecast JSON (SKU, status, velocity, days of cover, reorder point, recommended quantity, revenue at risk) to Anthropic's Claude API to write the plain-English restock narrative and supplier-grouped purchase-order summary. No customer data is sent to any third party. When no API key is configured, a deterministic local summary is used and nothing leaves your server.

Data retention & deletion

When you uninstall the app (or Shopify sends a shop/redact request), we delete all data we hold for your shop: sessions, shop settings, and cached forecast runs. We respond to the mandatory customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks with an attestation that no customer data is held.
