If products in your Facebook or Instagram catalog are rejected, they can't appear in your shops or catalog ads. Here's where to find the reason, the most common causes, and how to get them back.
Find the reason
Open Commerce Manager, choose your catalog, and go to the Issues tab. Rejected items are listed there, with the reason Meta gives for each one.
- Commerce Manager → your catalog
- Open the Issues tab
- Read the reason on each item
The usual suspects
Most rejections come down to two things. Missing or invalid product information, like no price, description, or usable image. Or a product that breaks Meta's commerce policies, which restrict categories like medical products, alcohol, and weapons.
- Data: Missing or invalid price, description or image
- Image: Under 500 × 500 px, or not the actual product
- Policy: Restricted categories, e.g. medical, alcohol, weapons
Fix it and resync
Fix the data at the source, in Shopify, so the next catalog sync carries it over. Use images at least 500 × 500 pixels that show the exact product. If you think a rejection is a mistake, you can request a review.
- Fix the product data in Shopify
- Let the catalog sync
- Mistaken rejection? Request a review
Doing this at scale
FeedFix scores every product against the Meta Catalog rules as well as Google's, so you can catch missing or weak product data before it's rejected. See FeedFix.
