Shopify Apps for Translation: How to Choose

Translating a Shopify store means choosing how the text gets written, who checks it, and where it is stored. This guide covers what to look for, Shopify's free Translate & Adapt app, and three other apps to consider. We make LinguaFlow, which is one of the apps below.

What to look for

Decide how many languages you need and how much review you want, then compare listings on these points.

Apps to consider

Prices are as shown on each Shopify App Store listing as of October 2026. Confirm current pricing on each listing before you install.

AppWhat it does and who it suits
Shopify Translate & AdaptFree app from Shopify with a side-by-side editor and automatic translation for up to 2 languages. Suits stores adding one or two languages.
LinguaFlowAI drafts you review before publishing, with a brand glossary and tone rules. Suits stores that want control over wording.
langifyAI and manual translation with a language switcher and third-party app translation. Suits stores with many languages or apps to translate.
WeglotAutomatic translation with a dashboard for editing, glossary rules and team review. Suits stores that want a fast setup.

Shopify Translate & Adapt is free. Its listing says you can use translations by Shopify for up to 2 languages and add as many manual translations as you wish in a side-by-side editor. Limitation: automatic translation stops at two languages, so further languages are manual work.

LinguaFlow drafts AI translations for each language you add, applies your brand glossary and tone rules, and lets you review and edit before publishing. It publishes through Shopify's native Translations API with no theme edits, and keeps an audit log with rollback. The listing shows a Free plan with 1 language and 250 translated fields, Starter at $7.99, Growth at $16.99 and Pro at $39.99 per month, with a 14-day free trial on paid plans. Limitation: it is a newer app with few reviews, so there is less merchant feedback to go on than for the others here.

langify lists AI and manual translations, a configurable language switcher, and features for translating third-party apps. The listing shows a Free plan with unlimited manual translations in up to 5 languages, Basic at $17.50, Growth at $29.95 and Premium at $59.95 per month. Limitation: bulk translations are listed from the Growth plan up, and paid plans include a set number of free AI-translated words.

Weglot lists automatic translation in over 110 languages, a dashboard for editing and glossary rules, and multilingual SEO features. The listing shows a Free plan with 1 language and 2,000 words, Starter at $17, Business at $32 and Pro at $87 per month, with a 14-day free trial on paid plans. Limitation: each plan caps both languages and translated words, and the listing notes charges may be billed by Weglot outside your Shopify invoice.

How to choose

Match the tool to the number of languages and the amount of review you want.

Whichever you pick, read how to translate your store safely before you publish.

Doing this at scale

With several languages and a changing catalog, the work is in keeping wording consistent and reviewed. LinguaFlow drafts AI translations for each language you add, applies your brand glossary and tone rules, lets you review and edit before publishing, and publishes through Shopify's native Translations API with no theme edits.
